Bowie Berlin Walk takes place during weekends regularly & by request during the week.
David Bowie and Berlin is a long and intense relationship. Discovering the city in the early 1970’s Bowie finally started to work in the city back in 1976 at legendary Hansa Studios together with his mate Iggy Pop. Long time after leaving Berlin in 1978 both artists stay connected with the city.
After the huge success of DAVID BOWIE IS exhibition in summer 2014 we extended the Bowie Berlin Walk and discover a bigger area from Kreuzberg and Mitte districts until Bowie's old neighbourhood in Schöneberg district. As a special highlight at the end of the tour we take a relaxed drink at nice little Bar/ Café NEUES UFER. Back in the days as Café ANDERES UFER it was one beloved hangout of Bowie & Iggy and still is a favourite place for the DB fans from all over the world.
We start the Bowie Berlin Walk in front Martin-Gropius-Bau and go on to legendary Hansa Studios - the musical center of Bowie’s Berlin universe. From there we check over to Potsdamer Platz and Brandenburg Gate, heading to Berlin Reichstag - here Bowie had a very special live concert back in 1987 during his Glass Spider Tour - directly at the Berlin Wall. From Friedrichstrasse station we take the S-Bahn for a short ride to Kleistpark area in Schöneberg where Bowie & Iggy used to live and end the tour with a free drink at Café Neues Ufer.
Please note that we do not enter Hansa Studios during the Bowie Walk – this opportunity you will have during our HANSA STUDIO TOUR and BOWIE BERLIN TOUR (combined Hansa Studio & multi media Bus Tour).
